When Did We Lose Touch With Our Creativity?

There's a particular moment most people never notice while it's happening. You're about to make a choice, a colour, a word, a direction, and instead of asking what you think, you ask what's "right." What's expected. What looks professional? The instinct was there. You just quietly talked yourself out of it.
It rarely feels like loss. It feels like growing up.

Somewhere, our taste got outsourced
Most of us didn't abandon our creativity. We were slowly trained out of it. The school rewarded the correct answer over the curious one. Work rewarded efficiency over exploration. Being taken seriously started to mean sounding like everyone else who is taken seriously.
The irony is that the people we admire, the brands, the makers, the studios with a point of view, are usually the ones who kept choosing their own instinct long after it stopped feeling safe.
So the real question isn't whether you're creative. YOU ARE. The question is quieter than that:
When did you stop trusting that you were?
Trusting it again is a small act, repeated
Reconnecting with your own creativity isn't a single breakthrough. It's a series of small permissions. Choosing the word that sounds like you instead of the one that sounds correct. Keeping the idea that made you slightly nervous. Letting your business look like the person who actually built it.
That's the work we care about at NICHE+. Not making things look professional, but making them feel like you again. The branding and the website are just where that finally becomes visible.
So we'll leave you with the question we keep coming back to: when do you think people lose touch with their creativity? And what would it take to find the way back?
If that question stays with you for a while, that's rather the point. And if you'd like to explore where it leads for your own brand, we're here: contact@nicheplus.nl.
